Terms of Use

Welcome to bookcased.ai. By creating an account or using the bookcased.ai app or website (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if higher) to use the Service.

2. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Provide accurate information and don't impersonate others. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post — your reviews, notes, margin notes, book-club posts, and images ("User Content"). By posting it, you grant bookcased.ai a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute that content solely to operate and provide the Service (for example, showing your public posts in the feed and on your profile). You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to post it.

4. Acceptable use — zero tolerance for objectionable content

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post, share, or do any of the following:

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or hate speech targeting any person or group;
• Sexually explicit material, or any content that sexualizes or endangers minors;
• Content promoting violence, self-harm, terrorism, or illegal activity;
• Spam, scams, malware, or deceptive or manipulative behavior;
• Content that infringes others' intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
• Impersonation, or attempts to circumvent moderation, security, or another user's block.

5. Reporting, moderation & enforcement

Every post can be reported (tap ••• on a post) and any reader can be blocked (from their profile). We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours and may remove content and suspend or terminate the accounts of users who post it, at our discretion. Blocking a user hides their content from you and prevents interaction. We may remove content or accounts that violate these Terms without prior notice.

6. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. Some provisions survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability).

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, bookcased.ai is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some may not apply to you.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms; we'll update the date above, and material changes will be posted here before taking effect. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
